Clergue Lucien







Born in 1934, Lucien Clergue is a French photographer who also became a good friend of Picasso after meeting him to show his artwork in 1953. He kept sending his photographs to the Master and their relationship lasted 30 years until Picasso's death. Within that time period he work on a series of photographs of traveling entertainers, acrobats and harlequins (the "Saltimbanques"). He was also interested in the subject of carrion (the dead and decaying flesh of an animal).
